For a third year, Thomas Jefferson University fashion design junior students participated in the Eileen Komar West Memorial Scholarship. Named in memory of late sleepwear and intimates designer Eileen West, this scholarship targets students interested in entering these specialized fashion fields. The sponsoring organization, Underfashion Club (UFC), is a non-profit within the fashion industry focused on education, opportunities, leadership, and charitable activities centered around the intimates apparel and underwear industries. We want to thank this organization for their continued support of Thomas Jefferson Fashion Design junior students and fashion education as a whole.
To be considered for the Eileen Komar West Scholarship, participating students design sleepwear or intimates capsule collections. Each must develop a concept, fabric research, and unique silhouettes for their looks, all while keeping their target customer in mind. In addition, they must also utilize technical flats to highlight how each piece is constructed. This past fall, six students submitted work in consideration of this scholarship, and three were awarded monetary funding towards their education.
We want to recognize all six students for their exemplary work and especially congratulate the three winners for their accomplishments. Be sure to scroll through all of the projects in their entirety below!
