Junior Studio Student Spotlight: Tahmya Alexander

July 20, 2020

Junior studio is a class taken in the spring semester of Fashion Design students’ junior year at Thomas Jefferson University. Students in this class use the skills they have developed in all of their other fashion design classes in order to create original concepts, fabric direction, and a 10 look collection backed by heavy research. In addition to preparing students for Collection Capstone classes taken during their senior year, this class also serves to educate students on fit and tailoring standards.

Tahmya Alexander looked to anxiety disorder and internal thought mechanisms as inspiration for her collection of modern, bold separates. Linear details and color-blocking are representative of fractured glass and mirrors. Check out Tahmya’s collection below and be sure to click the images to enlarge!
