Junior Studio Student Spotlight: Mikayla Guido

July 21, 2020

Junior studio is a class taken in the spring semester of Fashion Design students’ junior year at Thomas Jefferson University. Students in this class use the skills they have developed in all of their other fashion design classes in order to create original concepts, fabric direction, and a 10 look collection backed by heavy research. In addition to preparing students for Collection Capstone classes taken during their senior year, this class also serves to educate students on fit and tailoring standards.

Hannah looks to Romanian architecture and the iconic story of Dracula as inspiration for her Junior Studio collection. Colors borrowed from Romanian neighborhoods mixed with silhouettes inspired by medieval armor give this collection attitude.  Check out Hannah’s collection below and be sure to click the images to enlarge!
