KYW In Depth Feature: Farai Simoyi Discusses COVID’s Impact on Fashion

On August 20, 2020, Fashion Design Program Director Farai Simoyi joined KYW Newsradio to discuss COVID-19’s impact on fashion.  As the pandemic continues to alter all aspects of people’s lives, consumer habits adapt. Individuals are looking to face masks as a fashion accessory in addition to a safety precaution, and comfort is crucial to daily dressing.  In order to remain relevant, brands must pause and determine what is important to them internally. Some brands may need to shift product offering to better fit consumer needs. Additionally, Farai also discusses how Jefferson’s Fashion Design program is adapting to prepare future designers to lead the industry post-pandemic.
