Tuesday, October 18, 2022, join us for our 6th Annual Textile Design Symposium, in association with DesignPhiladelphia. This year the symposium will explore concepts of materiality, artisanship, and collaboration in regard to design as a practice.

How does the fiber affect the product? We have Heidi Barr to talk about the PA Flax Project and how flax is processed into linen. 9:00 AM EST

Where does a high degree of skill fit into textile design? Ishraq Zraikat and Karin Phillips discuss artisanal textiles in Jordan and Burkina Faso, respectively. 11:00 AM EST

When is it time to collaborate on a collective vision for a communal space? Porter Teleo will discuss how they work together to create award-winning wall coverings. 1:00 PM EST

Why is it important to document the textiles that go into our homes and commercial spaces? Lina Deeb Forrester will talk about and present the Kravet Design Archives, highlighting important work from the recent and distant past. 3:00 PM EST
