Adobe was looking for ways to increase their online presence and drive user engagement for their online portfolio website, Behance. The solution they came up with was a weekly design stream that would be shot live, where anyone watching from around the world could tune in and interact with the featured designers. Each week would focus on a different field in design; be it graphic design, illustration, typography, UI/UX, etc. The designer’s that Adobe chose to feature on these live streams would come from a wide array of backgrounds and levels of experience. Alum Ronnie Alley (2016) was recently fortunate enough to be approached by Adobe to be one of their featured designers during a week focusing on graphic design.
So in mid February for two hours a day, for three days Ronnie worked on a design project live and answered any questions that the audience watching at home would have. During those three sessions Ronnie worked on the redesign of his personal branding; with the first day focusing on the logo, second on a supporting illustration, and the last day was spent applying different assets to a full design system. The live videos will be on Adobe’s youtube channel forever, so if anyone wants to learn a little bit about the importance of designing a personal brand they can watch those videos and see a step-by-step guide through the process.
