For his capstone project, Atillahan Ozturk is developing a textile collection with knits and prints inspired by the harmony, balance, and mystery found in abandoned interiors. These forgotten spaces, marked by layers of time-worn textures, faded colors, and quiet stillness, serve as a reflection of beauty in imperfection and the passage of time.
Each piece in the collection incorporates a variety of fibers intentionally selected to enhance depth and dimension. By integrating multiple fiber types within a single textile, the project introduces an element of unpredictability, mirroring the organic and evolving nature of abandoned spaces.
This collection not only investigates the aesthetic and emotional resonance of abandoned places but also showcases the versatility and beauty of natural fibers. Through a thoughtful combination of materials, textures, and colors, the project captures the essence of stillness, decay, and transformation in a tactile, wearable form.
