The AATCC, American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists Delaware Valley Chapter members had their Fall meeting on Tuesday October 8th at the Datacolor office in Lawrence Township, New Jersey. Jefferson East Falls Textile Professor Janet Brady is the faculty advisor for the AATCC Jefferson chapter. Her association with AATCC began in 1975 while a textile student. She has continued to be a part of this nonprofit organization that provides technical resources and assistance to industry professionals and universities. AATCC has large number of grants, scholarships, competitions and education materials for students in the textile and fashion industry. It is a trusted source for the community to help foster industry collaboration and educational research.
Ms. Maria Thiry, Publications and Membership Director represented AATCC at the meeting, along with Jefferson representatives Ms. Becky Flax, Ms. Ritu Jadwani and recent graduate students. Maria visited the Jefferson East Falls campus on Wednesday morning to speak to students about the opportunities and resources that AATCC offers. AATCC head office is located in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina.
Datacolor provides color management hardware, software and support to save time and cut costs while increasing accuracy for textile industry professionals. Ms. Kate Edwards who is an AATCC member from Datacolor hosted the event with her colleague Mr. Ken Butts who gave a presentation on the innovative solutions that the company offers.
