Professionals on Portfolios

As part of the Jefferson Industrial Design speaker series, the program recently hosted an evening presentation exploring “What Industrial Design Firms Look For In a Portfolio”. The evening featured professionals from four different firms discussing with students the specific skills and sensibilities seen in top-level industrial design portfolios. The firms represented a wide range of specific areas within the industrial design discipline and included: Bressler Group, DESIGNLYNX, Design Science and Stylex Seating.

From the minute students enter the Jefferson ID program, focus is squarely placed on empowering them to populate their portfolios with robust projects that demonstrate the value they bring as designers. The opportunity to hear directly from top professionals regarding specific approaches and considerations greatly aided students’ efforts in this area. Several of the speakers were also alumni of the Jefferson ID program and so were able to tailor their input in a uniquely specific way. It was a great evening of information and networking.
