Pave is a nonprofit organization that works with companies and partners to build a brighter future by harvesting energy through the use of piezoelectricity. We strive as an organization to lead others to be more sustainable through the use of piezoelectricity.
The Piezoelectric Effect is the ability of certain materials to generate Voltages when subjected to mechanical stress or vibrations. When piezoelectricity materials are stressed by strain or pressure due to the transfer of energy from another source, they generate voltage. This causes a positive or negative charge to form within the piezoelectric material, and this charge is used to generate other forms of energy.
