AeroAggregates Of North America, LLC

ENGR101 Intro to Engineering students had a chance to visit AeroAggregates of North America, LLC. AeroAggregates, located in Eddystone PA, is a regional manufacturer that takes post-consumer waste glass and turns it into lightweight aggregates for use in infrastructure and building/construction projects. Thank you Chief Technical Officer Dr. Theresa Loux, seen in photos. Dr. Loux provided an overview of the material properties and projects and then a tour of the facility to observe the manufacturing of ultra-lightweight foamed glass aggregates (UL-FGA®).  Students, who are largely first-years in the BS Engineering and BS Mechanical Engineering programs, enjoyed the chance to see first-hand the production and quality control processes of materials they work with in the classroom labs.
